This is probably a question for John. I have a “potential “ new customer that has a defective player in his juke. Spins twice, stops. Try’s again etc. The player version is VAU1254/01 Is this a CDM4 or CDM12 ? Regards, Rick

Seeburg Pinbank Question

What can be used to substitute the circle insulators that go below the E-Clips on the top side of the pinbank? I just opened one to service it and discovered all of them are missing. Regards, Rick

I have one that will select if I help turn the motor a bit but coins do not advance the wiper blades. I’ve made some adjustments and did some contact cleaning but it does the same thing. I’m wondering if I need a DC voltage or something else? My lovely juke box was playing happily yesterday then suddenly wouldn't return the record to the carousel. The off switch nor the reject button work, it just goes round and round without sound too. Anything simple I can try please ? Mel

M100A Pickering Cartridge

Hi all, I've been making repairs to my Pickering M100A mono blackhead cartridge and am wondering what the purpose of the "damping "grease inside of the shell is. The original grease had become nearly hard and was removed during repairs. What will happen if I don't replace it with a thick grease, such as dialectric grease and what is the purpose of the grease in the first place? On another issue, With no record on the turntable and "A" side selected, the tonearm moves into position and when pushed forward does not spring back but stays where it should.with forward pressure removed. If you continue to push, it will eventually trip the reject. Doing the same test, again without the record, on the "B" side, the tonearm wants to move back toward you when my finger stops pushing. With a record playing on the "B" side and entering the end of record runout it will often skip back a bit into the program rather than continue on and reject the record. I can override the issue by increasing the tension on the B side tension spring but would rather understand why the tonearm skates back on one side and not the other. Dean

Wurlitzer 544 Amp diode Question

Hello From Sunny Ontario Canada today! I’ve been given a W544 to look at as it has replaced the -28vdc output with 66vac which (I’m sure) means that diodes SR1 and SR2 are shorted. Never having dealt with this previously, My question is what is a good replacement for these metal case screw mounted diodes? I’m thinking a 1N4007 would probably do the job but thought it would be wise to ask before jumping in. The originals look pretty hefty so really not sure? Any suggestions would be most welcome.
