AMI F-120 Mech Question
by Jukebox Repairman 15 Oct '26

15 Oct '26

A customer brought me a basket case F120 that I'm piecing together. I installed the TT motor mounting plate on the 3 standoffs but when I installed the turntable it hit the top edge of the gripper motor. I assume there are supposed to be shims / washers between the standoffs and the bottom of the plate??? If so, what thickness ? Can someone enlighten me? Nigel maybe? Regards, Rick

Rock-Ola 56180-2A amp remote?
by Tony Miklos 15 Oct '26

Is there a kit to add a wireless remote to this? It doesn't have to be one of the fancy ones that you can make selections with, just a volume, cancel, and maybe an On/Off. Thanks, Tony

Seeburg Reversing switch repair
by Jukebox Repairman 12 Oct '26

12 Oct '26

Went on a service call today for a M100C and discovered the actuator paddle on the reversing switch broke off and missing. Wondering if anyone on the list has ever made a repair / added a replacement paddle and if so what was the procedure and what material did you use to recreate the paddle portion? I was thinking maybe the rivets could be drilled out and a couple small screws could be used in place of the rivets? Open to suggestions Regards, Rick

Smart Airports: How Airport Biometrics Are Changing the Passenger Journey
by wadekar.sagar087＠gmail.com 06 Oct '26

06 Oct '26

Airport Biometrics are becoming an increasingly important part of modern airport operations, particularly as airports look for ways to manage passenger identification and movement more efficiently. These systems use biometric characteristics such as facial features, fingerprints, or iris patterns to verify a traveler’s identity at different stages of the airport journey. Facial recognition is one of the most visible applications of Airport Biometrics. It can be used at check-in areas, security checkpoints, boarding gates, and border-control facilities. Instead of repeatedly presenting physical documents, eligible passengers may be able to complete identity verification through automated biometric systems. This can potentially reduce repetitive checks and support smoother passenger processing. The development of biometric airport technology is also connected with broader investments in airport automation. Digital identity systems, self-service kiosks, automated border controls, and smart gates can work together to create more connected passenger-processing environments. However, implementation varies between airports and countries because of differences in regulations, infrastructure, and operational requirements. Privacy and data protection remain important considerations. Airports and authorities need to establish clear policies regarding how biometric information is collected, stored, processed, and deleted. Transparency about consent, data usage, security measures, and alternative identification procedures can influence passenger acceptance of these technologies. Another important factor is system reliability. Biometric identification needs to function accurately across different lighting conditions, camera positions, passenger volumes, and operational environments. Integration with existing airport systems is also essential for maintaining consistent performance. As international air travel continues to evolve, Airport Biometrics may play a larger role in passenger identification and automated processing. The future development of these systems is likely to depend not only on technological improvements but also on regulatory frameworks, cybersecurity standards, privacy expectations, and passenger confidence. https://www.marketresearchfuture.com/reports/airport-biometrics-market-6003

Rock-Ola S-6-1 Black System Mapping
by Tony Miklos 01 Oct '26

The manual is ordered, but in the meantime, I seemed to figure out how to make this juke map, but I can't get it to stop. I had just replaced the battery, so I'm starting at zero. I'm not sure anymore what order these events were. I had turned switch 5 on but it didn't map. I*played* with the programming with no luck. Then I sort of figured out my way around it, but I'm not sure how and/or if the number pressed needs to be locked it or something. Somehow it started mapping. It went all around but keeps going mapping again. I tried messing with the programming and the DIP switch again but it's still trying to map it all again and again. I don't often see these black systems and never had to do any programming so I'm a bit lost. I might clear the memory again and start over. (not a big deal since I mounted the new battery remotely outside of the computer.) Somewhere I already have a manual for the black systems, but it's hiding. Tony
