"As far as the Wurlitzer film goes, it's possible that the washers are pre lubed, as the boxes do look grimy."
I was wondering the same thing. We'll never know for sure.
My first jukebox was a W1100 purchased in 1990 and the restorer had used Tri Flow as a lube (I recognized the faint smell when the box got warm). 35 years later, the trays still pull out smoothly.
John, thanks for the YouTube link about the Wurlitzer factory. I imagined that I was watching my 1100 being built. Glad that Wurlitzer made this film so that we can see how the factory operated in the late 1940s. That plant was huge!

I've always oiled lightly and have never seen a stack that wasn't lubed. But I have unstuck many because of old grease/oil. I have never thought about assembling them dry but would like to hear how it goes if you do that. As far as the Wurlitzer film goes, it's possible that the washers are pre lubed, as the boxes do look grimy. Probably not anyone left to tell us for sure...
