2 yrs ago I worked on my neighbors USC-1. His band The Mystics had a hit song “Hushabye” . After recapping this juke his record sounded terrible (wavering). Other records not as noticeable. With Ron R’s help I tried many fixes. Nothing helped until he said try to see if the TT thrust is correct with .003” play. Mine had at least 1/8” and would not adj with thrust screw adj. The adj screw was hollowed out on the end from wear. Replacing screw and adj fixed the wavering problem. I had to buy 25 screws, so if anyone needs 1 let me know.

Although I believe I checked that, I'll check it again. It's like you say, much more noticeable on certain songs. This is when there are just vocals and little music. I went to youtube to hear that record and yes, the vocals stand out. If you think of any other things he told you to check I wouldn't mind hearing what they were. I've found that on other records where it isn't really noticeable, they just don't sound as good but it's hard to tell why. I can take a record that doesn't sound good and flip it and the A side (left side) still sounds bad
