No offense taken. I just meant lowered high frequency content as
opposite of "bright" or excessive high frequency content. So, in other
words, a reduced amplitude of high frequencies, typically starting
somewhere in the upper treble. Not a hard low-pass cutoff, but more like
a gentle roll-off or loss of “air,” sparkle, and edge.
