Rock-Ola 1434 cartridge wiring

If you aren't familiar with this machine, it has 1 tone arm that goes high or low to play each side of the record with a cartridge on the top and the bottom. It uses two 51-1 cartridges. Much to my surprise, the two cartridges are wired in series. I'm planning on putting 2 new carts on it and wondering if I should put them in series or parallel. I'm surprised it works with two in series, being that they are ceramic. I forgot to look to see what the input resistor is and it's value is not on the schematic. I forgot to mention that the top and bottom cartridges are NOT wired to a switch to get a signal from only one cart at a time like Wurlitzer did. It's not the end of the world if my first attempt might not work well, but the reason behind this is boggling to me. I'll be using the Crosley cartridges as nice fitting replacements and will connect their (stereo) outputs parallel like I normally do. Wurlitzer OMT CD

Are all the control boards on these interchangeable? I have an old box that long ago I upgraded from the old style laser to the newer Pro Player and up. The player acts exactly like it it bad. Spinning, stopping, spinning backwards eventually returning the cd to the carousel. I thought for sure it was the player, but that tests good in my test box at the shop. Any ideas what may be wrong. I was so sure it was the player that I didn't troubleshoot it any further. Dumb move, I know. It's just that I've never run into one that had a problem with the cd player that wasn't the player itself. I don't even know if the control board(s) are interchangeable or not all the same or who fixes them. -- Tony Miklos Tony's Jukebox Repair

Title strips in python

I got tired of tweaking existing label printouts to fit the format of my perforated sheets, so I ended up writing something myself. Below you can see the output, which scales the text when needed. You can drop whatever label style you want in there, or leave that blank. Are there some others here who know how to run python and would help me test this out before I distribute it? 780 blows fuse

Sorry I’m late getting back. The box blows amp fuse when record comes up. Was suggested to pull the 5Z3 and see if it still happens. No, the fuse doesn’t blow when the tube is out of the amp. Where should I go from here or what test might I perform to identify the issue? The amp has new caps from 3 years ago.Has worked with no issues until recently. Thanks.
