Customer contacted me about his CD juke. States he hadn’t played it for awhile and when he made a selection, it loaded the disc, started to spin then machine went completely dark. I asked him to look at LED’s on power supply and he told me the only one lighted is the 24VDC
I went there yesterday and checked all fuses in the supply and the amp. All good. Nothing looks burnt on the board.
Does this sound like a transformer fried???
I doubt it’s a transformer issue. Could be an internal rectifier or diode is bad or may just need to be recapped.

Don, I went back and removed the supply which was still plugged into the wall outlet. The transformer was HOT. I could barely hold it in my hand. If the machine was powered off why would the transformer be hot??

I think those boxes have remote on/off, so although power is cut to the lights and most of the rest, there is still power to the transformer which is needed to operate the remote on/off. It most likely doesn't matter if the remote is being used, or if the power switch is being used. "Off" isn't really off. It would be nice if they used a separate small transformer for that circuit.
As for how hot it was, well IDK for certain. Some transformers get pretty hot even without a load on them when they are on 24/7. Cheaper transformers will get hotter. If you happen to have an infra-red thermometer, you can check the actual temp, although I can't say what is acceptable.
Anyway, the only way to kill all the power is to pull the plug.

Oh, you should get a manual. They aren't always cheap but they pay for themselves with the time saved.
