Hello, Is there any way to strip paint from the pilasters? Krylon sparay paint was used . The only results I get so far is with lacquer thinnner, Will that ruin the surface? The complete pilaster has been painted. Thanks, Jim
Try a small inconspicuous test spot using Strypeez.

Ok I’m going to throw this out there. Oven cleaner! Yes I’ve used it successfully on Seeburg teardrop speakers that were spray painted brush painted etc… however I can not say if it will have a neg effect on the pillars… Try at your own risk…

Donald,
Think this will work to remove old damaged chrome on WurliTzer castings? I do not have re-chroming options in my neck of the woods, so will have to figure out a way to get the old chrome out and use the closest matching paint.

Use the oven cleaner that has all the danger warnings! Seriously, it contains lye and the weaker stuff I don't think will get the paint off. Walmart generic brand works great for greasy stuff also. Use it outside or next to an open garage door!
If it takes the shine off, you can spray them with clear, maybe semi gloss or satin? Just try it first in a small area. Tony

I've used brake fluid to remove paint from plastic. Takes some effort but did not harm the plastic console on my '66 Mustang. I've not tried it on those pilasters, so test first... On Friday, January 24, 2025 at 03:16:33 PM EST, Jim McClave via Jukebox-list jukebox-list@lists.netlojix.com wrote:
