Hello again!
The reset solenoid 1 (or solenoid 2, must check which one, it's the one about even numbered records) in my Microtecnica Conti2, just stopped working, it doesn't matter which odd numbered selection I do.
Everything else it's working fine, and if I reset the pin by hand for that selection, it's all ok. I don't see the reset coil even trying to reset the pins, but the plunger moves freely, if I push it by hand.
So, I'd like to find a way to check it without dismounting everything, just to be sure it's a coil fault and not something else.
First of all, at which voltage it's that coil operated? I suppose 110v ?
Where does the impulse for the coil starts from? There's a place where I could check with a tester if everything else it's ok, just to be sure it's not a problem with some old cable, or a microswitch?
Also, as far as you may know, there's any video around about how to access that solenoid...?
Thanks!
Hi,
The solenoid operates around 28vdc.
Check the 2 large black switches at the top right of the deck, the ones that the A/B toggle operates.
Check the relevant large black stopping switch behind the pin casting and check the microswitches beneath the tonearm.
You can remove the rear pin casting and meter continuity over the reset solenoid. I wouldnt think it has broken but you never know.
Also check the pusher arm that it operates hasn't seized up. It may need lubricating on the pivot.
Can you visibly see that it's not operating. It may be trying to operate but is having problems due to lubrication, or possibly the stop switch is over running and thus binding hard against the pin causing too much friction to move it.

Ok, will do.
Check the relevant large black stopping switch behind the pin casting and check the microswitches beneath the tonearm.
Will check, by the way I believe these are ok...

Will check. To eventually remove the reset solenoid, it will be sufficient to remove the rear pin casting, or more steps will be needed...?
Thanks!

Bingo!
The plastic link operated by the coil was broken. I changed it, and everything is working as it should again.
I'd like to add one (or two) fuse for the two reset solenoids. The impulse should start from the two transfer switches, then routed to the coils through the contacts on the bottom front of the record magazine.
Someone alredy tried this?
