Mauro, I just had an 1800 with a cobra cart that was giving me the same issues. Sent the cart to pfansteil for rebuild. Sounds great now.

The amplifier puts out good volume with defined bass and treble. The issue is that there is a slight scratchy sound in the high end of

Hey Rick, You may have something there! I tried feeding a signal from an old iPod after the oscillation circuit and got a nice clean sound, a bit lacking in bass but that might be because of the source. Thanks, Mauro
