Is there a TF-50 I have one that almost opens a Wurlitzer 850 and the number isn't stamped on, it's scratched on (looks like I did it) (I now have a punch set). I suppose I need an LF-50, but what is a TF-50?

Thanks! I wonder why they skipped the 850 with that key/lock? I guess I was lucky that while we were unloading it the back doors popped open. I used my handy 24" screwdriver to open the front. I didn't try any of my keys on the rear lock, but tomorrow I will see if it works.

There's a TF-25 but I m not aware of a TF-50. LF-50 will open the original 850 lock but at this age, it's common for other locks to be installed. On Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 12:23:39 PM EDT, Tony Miklos via Jukebox-list jukebox-list@lists.netlojix.com wrote:

I used the list put out by John Durfee (needles4jukeboxes).

Does he still have that list on the website? I think I remember seeing it, but I can't find it now.
If it's not there anymore, could you possibly scan and send a copy of the list for me?
It looks like an original lock and that other key fits fine, it just doesn't work. I don't have an LF-50 so I guess I'll get one, or two so the owner has a key again. I'll bring the tumbler with me to the locksmith. If not, I need to place another order from Victory glass anyway. The lock on the back door has been changed and so I'll have to change it again.

It's very easy to remove the lock barrel, clamp in a vise, insert your key, and file the tumblers yourself. Most locksmiths these days are not going to have a supply of blanks for these locks unless you have an older guy who has been in business for a long time. So they are going to file the tumblers to fit your key anyway. On Monday, April 7, 2025 at 06:04:17 AM EDT, Tony Miklos via Jukebox-list jukebox-list@lists.netlojix.com wrote:

Yes I could file the tumblers, and my locksmith is past retirement age. He has had other blanks I didn't think he would have. If I filed it, I'd still have to get a key for the customer, I'm not going to give him mine. I had to place an order with Victory Glass anyway so I ordered two. One for the customer and one for my key ring. $10.50 each. It's very nice to have the correct key when going on service calls! And here in the shop too. Plus it's for an 850, I can't defile it by filing it! ;)
