OK, can anyone tell me which way the colors are supposed to turn? Do they turn inward toward the speaker or out to the sides? I got a new motor for the left side and it's turning the same direction as the right one.Which way, well I forget since yesterday.
Unless you’re a purist does it really matter? When I restored my original 1015 I put the motors in so my cylinders rotate outward. I posted a video of it and some guy got all crazy telling me they need to rotate inward. Guess what I did? Nothing 😆

The problem is that they both turn the same direction. I want to know if the wrong part was sent to me or if the other side is turning the wrong way. The motor on the other side looks original. If I have to, I can remove the cylinder unit and compare the old part numbers on the motors.

They are supposed to turn inward to reflect off the center grill.

Thanks Ed! It turns out (no pun intended), that the new motor turns the correct way and the old one that looks original turns the wrong way. The new motor for the left side was the last motor Victory glass had for this box. They don't have a right side one.

Hi Tony,
One turns ClockWise, the other Counter Clock Wise - so they either both turn in or both turn out.
The motors will have stamped on the CW or CCW for their direction of turning...

Hi John, The one wasn't turning at all. Just a little while ago I replaced it with a new motor (left side). The motor runs clockwise and the colors turn counter clockwise toward the grill. The other side with the worn but working motor also turns the clockwise like the left one. I forgot to compare the markings on it when I took it out. I took it out to turn the bronze bearing 180° to buy it a lot more time before it wears out. (I also use 90W pure mineral oil with no additives in the bearings.) As worn as the bronze bushing/bearing was, I'm surprised it still worked! Now it has a new lease on life.
Somehow somewhere it got the wrong motor in one side. Victory Glass didn't have a right side motor so it is what it is.
Looking now, the website shows that they have left and right but they have pressed on wheels, not a flat side for a set screw like the old one and the one I bought. also on the website, it shows the two wires with crimped on slip on connectors. The motor I received had no connectors (which I didn't need) I don't know what to think anymore? I'll have to call them Monday then talk to the owner of the box to see what I will do. What a long story!
