Hi Rick,
Which capacitor number (Cxxx) was this on the schematic? I am having trouble seeing where any capacitors on the Play Control Coils or switch will effect the audio during scanning...
The Play Control subtract switch will operate whenever the mech scans to the right. Arcing here could cause a pop.
Rick showed that it was the actual Play Control Switch that had the open capacitor. What appears to be happening is when that switch gets noisy then you get noise, clicks, pops, etc to the audio amp power supply that then comes out the speakers.
Worth testing by disconnecting the 0.01 uF cap and listen for audio noise.
