It contains a good explanation of how "the sun's magnetic fields (old, dead sunspots) are swept up and dragged down at the solar poles to a depth of 200,000 km where the sun's magnetic dynamo can amplify them. Once the corpses are reincarnated (amplified), they become buoyant and float back to the surface. The speed of this conveyor belt sweep dictates the cycles." Have some really nice stuff from the N9NN estate. The Icom pieces are 'as new', and were packed with 1996 newspapers, suggesting long term storage... 1. IC-735, HF Xcvr, with microphone, original manual, CW Filter and original box (with carrying handle).....With IC-PS-55 12 VDC power supply. Asking $375.......$325 without Power Supply. 2. IC-2KL HF Solid State HF Amplifier with IC-2KLPS Power Supply......500 watts out on all bands including 10 meters, with original manual...NOTE: The bandswitch does not show 10 meters on the front panel, so require Icom transceiver as driver which will switch amp automatically to 10 meters. Asking $1,100. 3. MFJ-989C, 3KW Series Roller-Inductor HF antenna tuner...has some of dial numbers worn off of front panel...Asking $150.00 4. Ten-Tec KR-40 morse code Keyer...Asking $40.00 5. Hi everyone, A rather interesting blog post I just read that hits home: Is the iPhone Killing Your Creativity? http://lateralaction.com/articles/iphone-creativity/ The nutshell description is that many people can't stand boredom and use TV, the iPhone, their computer, etc. as distractions. The bottom line is they then don't spend any time daydreaming or other creative pursuits. Personally, I find myself doing the same thing ... checking email, checking the web, etc. Most interesting!!! IRLP Maintenance

Hi everyone! Does ANYONE have any idea what is going on with the hamfest/convention yet? I saw flyers for the event being distributed up at the Santa Maria Swapfest, but there is nothing on the SBARC website except the same announcement that has been there for about a month saying stay tuned. Some of his friends and co-workers at the school district are having a memorial service for him on Monday June 1 at 4:00 PM. It's at the Goleta Union School District board room across the street from the Goleta Library on Fairview. That's where the SBARC meetings are but I'm not sure if it's in the same room.
