Program ideas

Hi This is Steve AC6T. Need some help here. I am looking for ideas for and presenters for program presentations for the UCSB ARC that would be of interest to newly or unlicensed students. The presentations could be scheduled for 5pm or 7pm whichever would be more convenient. Please let me know if you have some ideas for this. I am trying to get more students involved with the club. If anyone is close to Ventura this Saturday, VCARC will be hosting a micro field day

The Ventura Club will be hosting The Bored Net's micro field day at the Dudley House on Saturday, Sept 30th from 11 to 3pm. Below is what I wrote for the Ventura club. Micro Field Day is not club specific. The Dudley House is located at 197 N. Ashwood Ave, Ventura CA 93003, and has a parking lot and street parking. There's a small grassy area that folks will set up on. So if anyone is in Ventura anyways this Saturday and want to come by and see folks doing ham radio remotely, stop by. (I'm sure we'll have extra hot dogs too, but no guarantees). Dave AI6VX This Saturday September 30th will be a fun filled day for our radio club, and it is all happening at the Dudley house! 8:30AM - VE session. We still have spots available. If you wanted to upgrade your license, or have a friend that is looking to get their technician license, send an email to 'licensing(a)vcarc.club' to get registered. 11AM - 3PM, Club Picnic, The Bored Net Micro Field Day, and The Bored Net's Silent Key Picnic Come join us for our club picnic! The club will be providing fire, water, hamburgers and hot dogs. You bring something to share, and a drink for yourself if you don't want water. The Bored Net will be sharing our fire with food for their own Silent Key Picnic, but everyone all together will also be participating in Micro Field Day, and the Silent Key remembrance. Send an email to Keith keith(a)w6kme.org if there is a silent key that you would like to be put on the call sheet. Lastly, if we're going to meet, I'd like to help you with any ham radio problem you might have - so bring it on! Do you have questions on how to program your handheld? Do you want wiring looked at? Have a question about your rig? Bring it! I know we offer this help on our website and over our Monday Night Net, but frankly often times it's easier to do things face to face. I'll bring some basic test equipment and representative ham equipment, so bring your questions and hardware and we'll try and help you out. Hope you all can make it this Saturday! Dave AI6VX

Does anyone remember who owns a spark gap transmitter?

Keith W6KME (CVARC and The Bored Net) asked me if I knew who in the SB club had a spark gap transmitter that was used in a presentation to CVARC in the past. Does anyone remember who might have it and their contact info I can send to Keith? He says that CVARC is looking for another possible presentation. Dave AI6VX

Eric, I *sometimes* have to do that from my email client as well, but my email client is very old and unsupported, so those kinds of nuances are expected. With my email client, it appears that it depends if I click on Reply or Reply-All *and* whether the original sender included a Reply-To header in their email (and probably other variables that I didn't stumble across in my 10-minutes of testing). The system is also performing very well into Balcom Canyon and along Hwy 118 from Saticoy to Moorpark. This system should provide a good supplement to the linked 145.200 Sulphur Mountain repeater.
