Can I bench test a Seeburg KD amplifier? I’ve never attempted it before. I have a jig setup for testing other Seeburg amps, it’s plug and play, I have the whole back door. It seems that if I just attach speakers, an input and plug it in it should be the same but thought I’d check here to see if my thoughts are correct. Please let me know if any of the fine members here have done it. Thanks, Mauro

I see no reason you can't bench test the amp if you have the entire back door on the bench!
I haven't done it though, but would not be concerned - other than the size of the bench space needed...

I use a 6 volt transformer with quick connectors and a cheater cord.

The KD is more of a hassle with it's back door size and weight. That's the lovely one with circuit boards. It's been 25 years since I did one, but I don't think you need a transformer. (except an isolation one)
For the other Seeburgs I have the correct socket that goes to the amp, with the transformer. One cord, one plug, one socket.

John, Thanks for the prompt reply. I’ve got it all connected except the audio input? I don’t have the small preamp board but would still like to test it, the manual is of no help in this case. I figured the input goes to one of the pins on the 11 pin mech plug but not sure if I just ground the other wire or are there more connections needed without the preamp? Mauro
