This is going to be a bit lengthy so bear with me.
I was called to a customer home for his juke not working after his home sustained a lightning hit. I was told that a TV, Pool pump, Dishwasher all damaged. His juke was not powered on during the strike but shortly after he noticed it would not accept a selection.
In the display it would show first digit then when pushing 2nd digit button the display would go blank.
In service mode mech magazine would not rotate but you could hear a click from the sprag solenoid.
I replaced the mech controller board and no change. Next the Central computer still no change. I pulled his mech, Central computer, and power supply brought them back to my shop and tested each component one at a time in my shop machine and ALL his components work fine.
He brought the complete machine to my shop for further troubleshooting. I reinstalled all his original components and now in idle state the magazine motor is constantly receiving power pulses. If I manually operate the sprag assembly the magazine starts to rotate in a slow jerky motion. I even replaced the service switch but I am now at a loss what is causing this issue. Again all his original components operate properly in my shop machine.
I would welcome any input on what could be causing this.

I don't know if it's tied to the CCC or just the amp, but try disconnecting the music decibel light display board. I'm assuming the voltages are good, but don't just go by the LED's. The CCC can have a lot less than 8vdc yet still light the led. Either way, try swapping power supplies.

Did you try disconnecting the wires going into the Decibel display lights. That is if this is the same model I'm seeing. It has lights across the front that move with the music. I don't know anymore if that control board connects to only the amp, or if it connects to the CCC also.

Check the pins in the molex plugs, I have ran across several of them where the pins were broken or flatten out and not making a good connection Causes all kinds of strange problems. Good luck..

Yes to below! Don't know why I didn't think of that. Resoldering every pin on all the circuit boards always gets done on Rowe/AMI's with circuit boards, and if they have one, don't forget the card style pricing board.

Clean and retighten ground on mech? Grabbing at straws now.
I had a CD box with similar problems once and it wound up seeming to be a multitude of problems at once. Slightly unreliable voltage at the customer's house in the country which a modern smps is supposed to be able to compensate for. A power supply that didn't seem to be able to do that, which is why it worked fine in my shop. A mech control computer that seemed to be very picky.
To this day I don't know what the exact problem was but after 4 trips 40 miles into the country the customer said it was working fine a few weeks later. Good advice on the pricing card for earlier models, but the R89 doesn't utilize one- it was the first model with the (then) new CCC that had pricing in the programming.

While I have re-flowed a few solder points on Rowe boards, that is not the issue here. Remember all of the components from his machine function properly in my shop R89
At this point I’m thinking the lightning issue in his home is merely coincidence to what I’m dealing with here.
Appreciate the reminder tip on solder points though.

Does it have a DBA and controller? If so, disconnect the power to the controller, even if no DBA is present. That controller has had me running in circles before.

Hi Thomas, I disconnected the display and no change, as soon as I move the service switch from off to Service position power is applied to the mag motor. If I manually operate the detent coil the magazine starts spinning. This time additionally the CCC Display showed 9701 I've never seen that before???
