Can you achieve the same results by using the 2 pin to 4 pin tone arm adapter with the newer cartridge? Is there a reason not to do it this way?

I’ve done it that way many times and never had an issue but I know many on the list insist the counterbalance weight has to be cut/adjusted or the cartridge needs a bit of weight added. Mine seem to play fine as is. Mauro
