Had a call today from a gentleman who said he added a stepper and wall box to his DS160.
The wall box selects perfectly but now when making a selection directly from the juke both alpha and numeric buttons stay latched down and nothing happens.
He disconnected the wall box but the juke buttons still stay latched down.
I have to say this is a new one on me so I’m throwing it out to the group for consideration.
Regards, Rick
Rick, Are you in Canada? I just had the same issue come up and was asked about it. The problem is in the 3 pin Molex plug, there needs to be a power wire added. Apparently without the stepper this wire is left out. Wondering if it’s the same jukebox, Mauro

Hi Rick,
This is a Stepper relay or Start Switch issue. When the stepper is active it shuts down the jukebox selection ability until the stepper has finished dealing with the reception and transcription to the tormat.
I believe that the Star Switch is the first suspect. Followed by the Timing Relay contacts. One of these has a set of contacts that look closed but are not making an electrical connection so the keyboard Write-In can occur.
John :-#)#
How about the contact closing at the home position on the stepper wheels?

Paul, if that were the case would the stepper still function allowing the wall box to make selections?

The Start Switch disables the jukebox selection until the stepper is finished, so - yes - the wallboxes can continue running even if the jukebox keyboard selection system is disabled because of dirty contacts.
