Hey. I have a 50 selection 1452 and was wondering if I can use a 120 selection WALLBOX with it.
Jason
Hi Jason,
I haven't done that combination, so I can't vouch for your specific situation, but I have mixed and matched a lot of different makes and capacities of wallboxes and jukeboxes together with good results. If the wallbox has more selections than the jukebox, unusual things can happen if the user selects a song on the wallbox that doesn't exist on the jukebox. The selection letters and numbers may or may not align. They won't in your case as the 1452 has numbers only. But that's fine once you have worked out which wallbox selection corresponds to which jukebox selection.
Does the 1452 actually have a stepper installed? I ask, because it's an unusually small number of selections so it may not be possible to connect any wallbox up to it other than maybe one that ls dedicated for it.
I would find out firstly if your jukebox actually has a stepper unit installed, or available as an aftermarket option. If it does, then you can try a wallbox and see if you have any joy.

If you get the stepper and it's a standard dual pulse stepper (I say this only because it might not be with the 1452 due to its record capacity), then you can try any wallbox other than the later digital ones (mid to late 70s onwards). Depending on how the 160 selections on your wallbox relate to the 50 selections on the jukebox, you may need to modify the stepper wiring for each pulse (not usually difficult adlfter studying it for a while). And/or modify the lettering on the wallbox against each title strip. And if things map nicely, for any buttons that would correspond to a duff selection, put a small piece of plastic tubing behind the button and over it's shaft, to prevent the illegal/redundant buttons being pushed in.

Thanks for the quick response. I don’t currently have the stepper. I’m also looking for that. The steppers normally come up a bit more often than the wall boxes. I figured I’d grab the wall box while I can.
