I have an early Rock-Ola bubbler in the shop and the three pilaster castings, only on the left side, the chrome is peeling off. The metal underneath, I'm guessing it's the nickel, is in as perfect condition as can be. I've never had anything chrome plated before. Anyone have any ideas what it would cost for all three?
It is really odd that this happened on only the left side. Has anyone had these parts with the chrome peeling? Does anyone still make these in metal? I don't even see all three offered for sale anywhere, metal or plastic.
Thanks, Tony

Metal can be rechromed, if you know any motorcycle or car restoration folk they often know who the good platers are. Be sure to tell the plater not to grind the metal or the edges will be softened and details will vanish.

Yes John, I know they can be re-chromed! :) I was asking approximate cost for those three parts with the base metal in near perfect condition. Then asked about repro pieces (that might be cheaper than re-chroming). But thanks anyway!

Visit your local Harley-Davidson shop. Go to the service department and ask who they would recommend for chrome plating. Those guys don't mess around when it comes to chrome.
Check with Speed Sport Chrome in Texas, Good work and fast turn-around. Be prepaired for sticker shock --- Plating is expensive ---
