The LED replacements to use with the original ballast are called "Type A" and/or "Plug and Play" lamps. The one I bought for a hard-to-find 33-inch lamp came with clear plastic and would shine primarily in one direction only. https://www.ebay.com/itm/276824141757 To diffuse the bright "spots" and make the lamp shine more evenly like a traditional fluorescent tube I wrapped it in a plastic light-diffuser material called "Kreene." https://www.boxcarpress.com/shop/kreene/ I have generally found the result to be satisfactory. Tony, Feit makes a plug and play tubular LED that illuminates 360 degree same as a fluorescent bulb. No need to bypass original ballast or rewire They’re available in variable color temps

Is anyone using these or other LED replacements? how well do they light up pilasters? Must you sometimes rotate the sockets so the light shines the proper direction? The same questions for other sizes also.
