Are all the control boards on these interchangeable? I have an old box that long ago I upgraded from the old style laser to the newer Pro Player and up. The player acts exactly like it it bad. Spinning, stopping, spinning backwards eventually returning the cd to the carousel. I thought for sure it was the player, but that tests good in my test box at the shop.
Any ideas what may be wrong. I was so sure it was the player that I didn't troubleshoot it any further. Dumb move, I know. It's just that I've never run into one that had a problem with the cd player that wasn't the player itself. I don't even know if the control board(s) are interchangeable or not all the same or who fixes them.

Hi Tony,
S&CCs of the same part number are interchangeable. - you just have to have the correct EPROM for the version of CD-Player you have - CDM3/4/12/Pro...
A trick to try is to make sure the OMT is reading the K1 switch correctly - so put the machine into Self Test (Test Sw on S&CC, Press LT button) and then use button 7 to get the CD onto the player. Now press button 6, does the player spin? If not unplug the BLUE plug (bottom left) on the S&CC and see if it now plays. If it does then something may be wrong with wiper switch K1 (should be shorted to K6 and open to ground) as I recall. We are working on an OMT that has a similar problem, S&CC works on Doctor Box, but not in machine - when I find the issue I will write it on on Flippers!

Thanks John, I will print that out and stick it in the manual. I've asked before but lost my info, but when did the computers have those bad transistors? I had the papers on it and a little bag of transistors in my manual, but of course I lost it. :(
I didn't notice how old this machine is, but the plastic for the color tube/lights was dark as all heck from the uv light. Of course there wasn't much light coming through. I asked the owner if he leaves it turned on a lot and he said that it's on 24/7 since he bought it new!

We have the plastic cylinders in stock normally...along with the colour sleeves.
