I have RTFM and Ron was adamant about making sure the carry over switches are open and never close on the 2 Limit switches that control the reversing the mech at end of travel L/R. or the mech will have motor run on and the mech runs past the ramps and crashes at the ends. This 1 does that and I made sure they r open. I found they must have tie wrapped the mech for travel in the Detent sw area and it was bent and not functioning. I bent the bracket back and I can see the sw open & closing. If I run Ron's test #1, it does not show the pulse timing . Instead it just shows mech position , like 135, etc. Is the timing of the detent sw critical that would cause this not to work? Any ideas to try? Thx, Kent
You need to verify with an ohmmeter (machine power off, rotate turntable by hand to move mech) that the switch is actually closing and opening as per the adjustment specifications. A visual check won't show where the keeper blade is shorting the moving blade unless you know exactly what you are looking for. I've seen hundreds so I know what a bad one looks like.
