I believe it was option offered by AMI. At the time there were many Seeburgs on location with wall boxes permanently wired. In order for an AMI dealer to have any success in selling there jukes and in taking over the location they had to be able to switch jukeboxes without tearing out all the wallboxes. This is what I recall hearing as an expiation in the past, it seems to make sense as it was a very competitive industry in the 1950’s. Mauro
