The Start Switch disables the jukebox selection until the stepper is
finished, so - yes - the wallboxes can continue running even if the jukebox keyboard selection system is disabled because of dirty contacts.

This is a Stepper relay or Start Switch issue. When the stepper is active it shuts down the jukebox selection ability until the stepper
has
finished dealing with the reception and transcription to the tormat.
I believe that the Star Switch is the first suspect. Followed by the Timing Relay contacts. One of these has a set of contacts that look closed but are not making an electrical connection so the keyboard Write-In can occur.
