After adjustment at the factory, the star wheels were pinned to the heart shaped cam so that each machine is slightly different. At this age, chances are good that the selector shaft or cam or star wheel has been changed. The holes in the star wheel are enlarged for slight adjustment. Remove the pin and rotate the star wheel slightly to engage the trays a bit better. Careful, a little goes a long way. The service manual does not explain star wheel adjustment in relation to the cam and it took me many hours of frustration to figure this out. If the take out lever is engaging the high number trays on the high side and low number trays on the low side, you rotate the star wheel in one direction. If it engages the opposite way, rotate the other direction. Good luck. On Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 10:25:51 AM EDT, Tony Miklos via Jukebox-list jukebox-list@lists.netlojix.com wrote:
If I'm not mistaken, normally the jukes of this era, when the pin goes into the star wheel, the lift, or drop of the selector just barely goes far enough to align with the record trays. On this box, when the pin goes into the star wheel, the lift goes past the center of the tray, almost too far. After adjusting it, it is working well, but not engaging in the center of the tray. So it's working going up and down, but it's a bit confusing why this one goes so far when engaging into the star wheel. Any ideas?
