I wanted to close out with a summary of fixes to the above issues. hopefully it can assist someone in the future:
First the hum that was present when the AVC was ramping up on initial record start was fixed by installing new motor mounts 2ea one top and one bottom and the turntable coupler. I purchased these from “Needles for Jukeboxes” https://www.needles4jukeboxes.com/
The issue with the mech skipping when trying to scan after record play was corrected after properly adjusting the clutch. Particularly step 1 were I found that the clutch was not dropping fully when in scan mode. This was due to the set screw (step 1) being set to high which caused the lever to not fully drop. After adjusting steps 1-4 the mech now works perfectly. In addition to the above I also cleaned and adjusted the tormat unit per manufacturer instructions found in the manual.
Hope this is useful Don

Ok a few updates I’m certain the hum is coming from the turntable drive motor I have a new coupling and motor mounts coming. The “studer” of the mech at times has been corrected by following the realignment procedure for the clutch. Now I’ve moved on to find another issue:
You can select and it will play A1 thru A8 however any selected record outside of those always stops on E1 thru E8 including the B side. For example you select L4 it will play E4 if you select B4 it will play E4 and so on. FYI the selection receiver has been recapped not by me about 8 years ago.
Any input is appreciated Don

Also wanted to note that while the record is playing I lift the arm off the record and the hum is still there.

Ok removed the input plug no hum. Reinserted the input plug hum. Removed 6BJ6 tube no hum. Replaced with two other 6BJ6 tubes that tested good on my tube tester still hum.

No, I said remove the input PLUGS, not output Tubes! But as Jay has said, it's a mono machine so there is just one input plug.

Thanks for the reply Tony so to be sure I understand remove the 6L6s
one at
a time. As for the clutch I should have noted I had already removed
cleaned
and lubed when I got the jukebox.

First, pull the amp input plugs one at a time to see if that stops
the
hum on either or both channels. If it still hums with both out, it's
in
the amp. If it stops, it's in the wiring to the amp. As for the mech problem, disassemble and degrease the clutch parts,
lube
them and reinstall. Heat from a hair dryer or a heat gun will make disassembly of the important parts that stick the most. Be sure to remove all records near the heat source.
