Seasons Greetings! I’m working on a Wurlitzer model 503 amplifier and volume control box (all original). This set up also has a Jacobs preamp installed. I’m having issues with the volume control box (I believe), I’m using an iPod for a signal, when I plug it directly into the amplifier it sounds great, when I use it to test the preamp there is a slight increase in signal from the input to the output, so I’m assuming these components are all good. When I connect the volume box into the circuit I lose almost all the signal, everything is newly replaced in the control box except for the coils. I’m suspecting L2 but have never had to replace one and not sure how to test it? From the schematic I’m guessing one of the tabs on the coil is just an isolated binding terminal, I suppose what I’m asking is how to test and find the issue and if need be where would I source a modern replacement?
