Rowe CD title page Motor

I have a customer with Model I CD machine. This has the vertical title pages and like most the gear in the motor has stripped. The original motor is a Merkle-Korff ( now nidec) and apparently a rare commodity. Tried calling them directly and emailing but no response. Does anyone have a spare motor they could part with? This guy has worked fine for years since it’s restoration. Now, The box takes a selection but when carousel rotates to the record the tone arm comes down and right back up and carousel continues to rotate. Suggestions please. Thank you Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS

Cartridge terminals

Does anyone have a good source for the round terminals that slide onto the cartridge pins? I looked around and it looks like the going rate is about $5 for four! (plus shipping) It used to be that new cartridges came with them but not anymore (for a lot of them anyway). I thought I'd find something like 100 for $10. Maybe the return of the vinyl drove prices crazy? Tony

Problem with AMI-C Transfer Motor

I am in the process of getting an AMI C jukebox to work. I am having a problem when the transfer motor attempts to lift a record. It stops at about 45 degrees, and I can manually help it finish (not sticky, moves evenly). I have previously cleaned out all the old grease from both record rack and transfer motor. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I did replace the selenium rectifier with a single phase bridge rectifier (35a, 1000 V) [no resistor added]. 1015 Fiber gear

I just put a new main fiber gear in my W1015 and was wondering if it required any lubrication? I put a few drops of oil on the worm gear but I’ve heard different opinions over the years so now that it was my turn to do this I thought I’d ask the option of the group. Rock-Ola 442 magazine drive gear replacement.

The time has come. The time to replace the magazine drive gear (P/N 43313) in my good ol 442. The gear presently on the machine - it has two tracks for the odd/even alternating dog (the football) to switch back and forth between - part of that "wall" separating the two tracks somehow got bent up right at the "crossover" and the dog just stops cold right there and eventually the mech fuse blows. That's just background though. I have a replacement 43313 in my little hands. I'm pleased to have it. BUT....as I look at this job....it does not look fun. Am I gonna have to take out the whole mechanism? Sure looks like it. There definitely isn't enough room in the cabinet to slide the magazine off of the main shaft. I don't mind taking out the whole mechanism, I'm not intimidated by the prospect (well maybe a bit), but it's hard to picture the process in my mind. Am I gonna need some kind of hoist? I actually have an engine lift that I use for plucking V-8's, but that seems silly.. No way I'm even starting this project without asking those who have done it before, so I'm throwing it out there! What do you guys do? What should I do? What SHOULDNT I do? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated. I'm a careful and experienced mechanic and workman, but let's face it, in this case...I don't have a clue! Fire away! Thanks, Eli

Rowe Ami JAL tone arm adjustment

Hi All, Working on a Rowe AMI JAL and trying to get the tone arm return height adjusted correctly. According to the manual you have to bend the tonearm rest so that the needle clears the gripper transfer arm by about 1/8”. However on the gripper arm there is small metal sleeve at the position where the back of the tone arm cartridge passes over the gripper arm. This little sleeve is not pictured in the original manual. Does the tone arm height need to be adjusted so that the cartridge clears this sleeve or is it supposed to touch it and it is ok to ‘skate’ over this sleeve? Capacitor Testers

My capacitor tester died last week. It's one like this: https://www.ebay.com/p/1801512529 I really wasn't ready to spend that much, especially on something without a warranty. It's almost 45 years old. I do really like it because it's fast! I don't think it takes much more than a second or less to read capacitance and there is no range knob to turn. I do want one that tests leakage at the actual voltage. This one does go up to 600 volts, and that works for me. Is there any others out there that can compare at a lower price or is this it? I think I paid about the same 30 some years ago off my boss who bought a new one. Are any of the hand held ones worthwhile? I have one cheap multimeter that tests capacitance that seems accurate, but it takes way too long to autorange. And of course the leakage test doesn't go up to 600 volts.

LPC 480 mech

I think I've seen this problem once before but don't know what model seeburg it was. Anyway I have the LPC ready to be picked up and after several hundred test plays, the mech decides to jamb up. The motor will be on and trying to turn but no go. Turn off the motor and it sort of backs up a hair away from the side it was trying to go. For the life of me I just don't see what it is. There is a little play in there and if I toggle the reversing switch back and forth it will scan 4 or 5 spaces then jamb, flip the switch and it goes the other way. I'm pulling my hair out and I don't have much left! It isn't anything mechanical from the mech to the cabinet, when it's stuck all areas of the mech can still be wiggled around. Nothing at all like the cable getting stuck, that's for sure. I'm thinking something with the bell crank for the tone arm, but the tone arm does move left and right. Once again, I can't find my books from Ron Rich in case he has any tips for that in there. Tony

Seeburg 100W Pilasters

I have a customer that has a W with 100C looking pilasters (light snowflake) and color cylinders. He is thinking of going original but wants to know how much he can (or I can) get for his old stuff. They will fit into a 100G but will they fit in anything else? Any ideas what they would be worth? How about to someone here? :) :) :) The color cylinders have good color and the motors are both working.

Hello, I have a Seeburg KD200H which has been working for 10 years. However, now after making a selection it now plays all records sequentially starting at the position where the mechanism rested ignoring the selection. I have conducted the following: 1. Measured the Play Control 'Sub' and 'Add' solenoids - both 12Ω, 26mH 2. Replaced 12AX7 3. Replaced 56k Ω resistor in TEU 4. Checked TEU1 voyage -300VDC 5. Checked the Tormat return path 190 Ω 6. Cleaned the following: a. Play Control contacts b. Detent switch c. Tormat readout RCA connector d. All relay contacts on the Mechanism All did not fix the problem. I will appreciate your help. W61 Continued issue

Still working on the model 61. With the help of Hans I was able to replace the fibre gear, it went together well and works fine. (Thank you Hans) The problem now is that it keeps picking up the same record and the selector never searches. The problem is that at the end of the cycle the clutch does not reset forward and engage the selector gear. However if I advance the mech a bit it will do what it’s supposed to do. I’ve done the timing at least 5 times but it hasn’t corrected the problem, I’ve even tried advancing the timing a bit and retarding it a bit and still no luck so I just set the gear back to where it’s supposed to be. Is there an adjustment to make the motor run a bit longer? I’ve read the manual cover to cover but no mention of this. In the troubleshooting section it says to do the timing, but as I stated, this did not solve the issue. Any ideas much appreciated. Mauro Sent from my iPhone

However, now after making a selection it now plays all records sequentially starting at the position of the mechanism ignoring the selection. I have a Service Manual which describes in detail settling and adjustments. In order to trace this fault a 'Control Sequence Diagram' would be very useful. I have seen Control Sequence Diagrams for later Seeburg JBs - semiconductor models which gives some information. I have inquired on other forums without reply. Any diagnostic information will be appreciated. Can anyone please tell me "what is the signal or relay/solenoid that is activated when a record has been returned to the rack"? Rod

Turntable fibre gear replacement

I’ve noticed a few people replacing the main fibre gear on W61 countertop jukeboxes, I have mine apart and need to replace the turntable fibre gear. I have the assembly out of the mech and on the bench but can’t figure out how to get the shaft out of the cast metal assembly that holds the worm gear. Can it just be done as is or does this shaft have to be removed? Any insight much appreciated as I’d like to get this back together and out of my work space! Seeburg Q Stereo Crossover network & speakers needed

Someone decided to make this Q better than factory and installed two new speakers, disconnected the mid-range speaker, and removed the crossover network. I'm not so sure if I need the speakers, but the crossover network would be very nice to have. Come to think of it, I'll have to test the mid/high range speaker.
