Downed Power Line ---- Very important information !!!!
They left one thing out learned from the local fire department:
Do NOT step on the lines painted on the road. They use metal in the paint to make it reflective, and it can carry current a long way - several hundred yards.
Short version: Do not drive over downed power lines Assume all lines are hot Stay in your car if possible If exit required, DO NOT make a circuit of yourself by touching the car and the ground Jump away and land on both feet. Shuffle away in very short steps at least 35 ft.
This is very good information for all of us!!
Please watch and listen.
I learned quite a bit from this video.... I knew the basics, but not the latter part .... Please watch it all the way through ... Could save you.
