Downed Power Line ---- Very important information !!!!
They left one thing out learned from the local fire
department:
Do NOT step on
the lines painted on the road. They use metal in the paint to make it
reflective, and it can carry current a long way - several hundred
yards.
Short
version:
Do
not drive over downed power lines
Assume
all lines are hot
Stay
in your car if possible
If
exit required, DO NOT make a circuit of yourself by touching the car and the
ground
Jump
away and land on both feet. Shuffle
away in very short steps at least 35 ft.
