Mark your calendar for the next southern California on-foot foxhunting session, tentatively scheduled for October 12. This "welcome home" event for participants in the recent World Championships will be free and open to everyone, beginners and experts, as always. Location and time will be announced soon. Although the attempt to publicize the Ventura swapfest is appreciated, a primary source of information was not provided. Check the ARRL Santa Barbara Section Web site for full details: http://www.qsl.net/arrlsb/Pages/trwsaturday.html September TRW Saturday moved to Ventura Plan now to spend that cancelled TRW swap meet day in the beautiful Redwood Glen area of the Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura! Bring your swap meet items for display on the Swap Tables. Hot charcoal will be available for you to cook your self-supplied food. Bring a side dish to share if you wish. The city collects a $1 entrance fee to keep out the riff-raff. A donation of $2 per family is requested to cover site expenses. There's a lot going on in the Southwestern Division this Fall. Here's an update on some of the major events: The TRW Swap Meet normally held on the last Saturday of the month is cancelled for September only. More info at: www.w6trw.com Things will be back to normal in October according to Duane Park, WA6EIK, TRW Swapmeet Staff. To fill the void, several clubs have joined to sponsor a Swap and B-B-Q Fest at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura, 9AM to 4PM on Saturday, Sept 28. More info from: Stewart, KG6BOV, 805-488-7388. If you still need your monthly dose of Swapmeets, don't forget the El Cajon ARC Swapmeet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays at the Santee Drive-In Theater, Woodside Ave at Hwy 67 in Santee, CA; The Inland Empire ARC Swapmeet held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the A B Miller High School, 6821 Oleander Ave in Fontana, CA; and the CMRA Swapmeet on the 3rd Saturday of each month at Cal Poly Pomona, 3801 W Temple Ave, Pomona.
