Hi Federico,
Hello!
If you remove or tape up th switch activator, does the arm work ok then ? I just want to rule out stuff cartridge wire or something like that?Yes, if I remove the swich actuator, everything is fine...
The AT3600 can track at 4 grams so I suspect it is the stiffness of your switch. I have replaced a couple with modern equivalents of the low pressure switch and they are worse than the original.
Ok, I was hoping that something better could be found in the market today, but this is not the case.
I have replaced some entirely with a magnetic reed switch in the past. This seems to work.
That could be a good option, I think. Did you managed to use the existing screws and hardware, to make it...?
You may want to try disassembling your existing switch (can be done with care), cleaning the contacts and making sure the tension is reduced somehow.
For now, I managed to reduce the movement of the switch's blade to the minimum, and to have it to close contact almost as soon as it's hit, so the arm does not move it until the very last moment.
The anti skate spring won't make a difference to this problem, in fact it will make it worse. It's not really necessary for tracking at 4 grams anyway.
Ok
A good original switch will work perfectly with modern cartridges tracking at 3 grams, so it's likely your switch needs some maintenance.
Perfect, I'll see what can i manage to do.
Thanks!
