No, as long as the same polarity poles are tied together and the opposite polarity go to the original connection points.

Also, as stated before, be sure the two capacitors are identical voltage and capacitance ratings. When you put two identical value capacitors in series the capacitance is divided in two, and the breakdown voltage doubles.
So two 20mfd @50VDC capacitors equals a capacitor of 10mfd @ 100V when placed in series.
If the capacitors are not identical then there is math...
