Someone got to this before me. I have no idea what may have been wrong or what has been done, except this. The CD player acts like it's typical failure symptoms, but it tests good and a different known good one doesn't work. All the flaky BC337's (it's in the serial number range), they were all replaced with 2N2222's. But transistor Q15 was also replaced with a 2N2222 which is a BC327 NPN not a PNP BC337
Could that one transistor cause the cd player to not work? I'll install a replacement, but the juke is over an hour away, so I'd like some idea if that one transistor could have been the problem or if I'll have to dig deeper.
Yeah, that is wrong...my chart for the transistor upgrade does not tell anyone to replace Q15! A mistake made by the person trying to upgrade.

John, Thanks to you I knew all about the updates to the board many years ago!
Yesterday, in a newer manual I found an easily readable schematic and see that the T15 is only for a printer and a couple led's and something else that I can't recall at the moment. Nothing to do with the CD player. Dang it.
