No to the 1N4007c they are only rated at 1 Amp.
To check the diodes unsolder one lead and check with your ohmmeter/continuity tester. May show something in one direction but nothing in the other - this would be good sign for the diode.
More likely a shorted electrolytic cap!

I’ve been given a W544 to look at as it has replaced the -28vdc output with 66vac which (I’m sure) means that diodes SR1 and SR2 are shorted. Never having dealt with this previously, My question is what is a good replacement for these metal case screw mounted diodes? I’m thinking a 1N4007 would probably do the job but thought it would be wise to ask before jumping in. The originals look pretty hefty so really not sure? Any suggestions would be most welcome.
