Hi Terry, I rebuilt a 2304 that had rats living in it. The deck and some wheel parts had rusted. But after a thorough cleaning, replacing side laminate, rebuilding amplifier and replacing cartridge it has been very reliable for the past 10 years. I'm not very good at the sound aspect so sometimes it gets louder and quieter, but that is probably the way the needle is riding or I have an amplifier issue. Regardless, it always works when I entertain. Mine also has a broken hinge on the left side of the main glass, but I have been able to live with that. Good luck!
