Hi Mauro,
SR1 and SR2 are 18A diodes...
I have them in stock:

Ok, so I have removed the diodes and found the following resistance results: Diode 1: 145 ohms, (leads reversed) 11.6 meg Diode 2: 130 ohms, (leads reversed) 1.2 meg The reading slowly decreases the longer I wait but this was after a few seconds. I then remembered I had a transistor tester that tests diode leakage, diode 1 tested good and diode 2 showed significant leakage. I will likely change the associated capacitors but I think I will need to replace the diodes as well. So if anyone (John) would be able to recommend a good replacement for SR1 and SR2 (1.6a) that would help me out. Thanks again, Mauro

John, I never considered that but will check capacitors and re-check diodes tomorrow. Thank you for the speedy response! Mauro

No to the 1N4007c they are only rated at 1 Amp.
To check the diodes unsolder one lead and check with your ohmmeter/continuity tester. May show something in one direction but nothing in the other - this would be good sign for the diode.
More likely a shorted electrolytic cap!

Hello From Sunny Ontario Canada today!
I’ve been given a W544 to look at as it has replaced the -28vdc output with 66vac which (I’m sure) means that diodes SR1 and SR2 are shorted. Never having dealt with this previously, My question is what is a good replacement for these metal case screw mounted diodes? I’m thinking a 1N4007 would probably do the job but thought it would be wise to ask before jumping in. The originals look pretty hefty so really not sure? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you, Mauro
