The fuse in my 780 amp blows as the mech rises to play a record. Amp works fine out of the box. Mechanisms works as it should but the amp fuse blows. Suggestions? Thanks, Allen
It may be that the chassis is "Hot" - in other words the amp chassis or the mech chassis is connected to the line hot side.
Is your jukebox wired with a three wire power cord where the ground wire goes to the chassis?
If the amp becomes hot (wiring short to its chassis) when powered then that could pop a fuse. Test by plugging the amp into a regular outlet (on a wood or other non-conducting work bench!) and with your voltmeter see if the exposed metal of the chassis (screw head, or inside exposed metal of amp) is showing line voltage relative to the line electrical ground of the outlet with a voltmeter. Reverse the amp power plug if nothing shows the first time you test.
