My capacitor tester died last week. It's one like this: https://www.ebay.com/p/1801512529
I really wasn't ready to spend that much, especially on something without a warranty. It's almost 45 years old. I do really like it because it's fast! I don't think it takes much more than a second or less to read capacitance and there is no range knob to turn. I do want one that tests leakage at the actual voltage. This one does go up to 600 volts, and that works for me.
Is there any others out there that can compare at a lower price or is this it? I think I paid about the same 30 some years ago off my boss who bought a new one.
Are any of the hand held ones worthwhile? I have one cheap multimeter that tests capacitance that seems accurate, but it takes way too long to autorange. And of course the leakage test doesn't go up to 600 volts.
