It could also be that the vintage Jukebox do it yourself group of users has become a bit of a boutique class.
“Social media” platforms are clamoring for a piece of the pie in order to profit from it.
Concerning FB, I learned long ago, “likes” do not pay the bills.

Now, I think we are seeing things coalesce around some brand-specific Facebook groups.
I have mixed feelings about this. OTOH, it is probably more helpful to people if there is a specific group where the knowledge and advice are located. But then there are people who won’t know of, or want to become involved with the FB groups and we’ll miss their input.
