Hello, I have made a little progress - by manually toggling the Play Control Solenoid all records are played in one position (I assume that is in the Add mode as there is power applied to the audio transformer primary) and when toggled back no activity. I see from the circuit diagram that the subtract solenoid is activated via the Scan Subtract Switch (also labelled 'Play Control Subtract Sw). From the Simplified Schematic Diagram Add solenoid is activated via the Pricing Unit - this suggests that there is a fault in the pricing unit which looks complicated.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks Rod.

Hi Jay, Thank you for your prompt reply. I see the 'play control' relay on the circuit diagram with the solenoid energised via J753 and the contacts applying power to the audio power transformer primary - it looks like the keyboard is connected to J753 or a service switch to activate the 'add' play control. Is the play subtract switch also called the 'scan subtract switch' which activated the 'sub' play control solenoid?
The Play Control assy is located inside the 25PCU1 unit just to the left of the 2050 tube (RCSU-1 Unit) in the rear door panel when looking at the front of the panel. Right side of the 2050 if you have the rear cover off the door panel.
The ADD solenoid should NOT be constantly energized! If it is, unplug either the Pricing Unit (DPU1 or the SPU1) 12 pin plug P754 to 25PCU1 - and the ADD Solenoid should now be de-energized.
If that is now the case, service the Pricing Unit.

I cleaned all relay contacts on the mechanism hoping to cover the play control subtract contacts but the fault remains.
You mentioned that the play control relay is on the TSR - my JB does not this unit is it located on the RCSU1 module.
How do you suggest that I check the play control relay?
I will appreciate any further help.
Thanks
Rod George

Hello,
I have a Seeburg KD200 which I have enjoyed for many years - recently the mechanism travels back and forth continuously and the keyboard is not active, ie. No sound of relays when a selection is made.
I checked the voltage at the Tormat Electronic Unit (Type TEU-1) to be OK at -300V.
The fault may be around the 'Write-In' circuits but I need some help in the diagnosis.
Check the play control relay in the TSR. Also the play control subtract switch on the mechanism.
