Check the frog make sure the “A” side contact plunger is not stuck. Also I always pull the tormat unit out and clean all the contacts…

Hi Mauro,
Check the stepper wiring, plug where it goes to the Tormat - perhaps there is a break that would account for this lack of selecting the "A" side of the records.
Interesting problem. Busy though...

New information- the jukebox behaves exactly the same way when a
selection is entered from the stepper so wiring harness is unlikely.

John,
Thank you for your input. Yes, actually it’s the other way around, we are sure the A sides are
NOT playing and the B sides ARE playing perfectly. (I screwed up in the original post.)
When they are selected from the keyboard they do not trip but do so
under the battery test.
My first instinct was a wire as well but he says he traced them all
out. Maybe I will ask him to verify again.
Any other thoughts would be great. Thank you,
Mauro

If the Battery Test plays both A & B sides, then the 2D21s and
related read-out circuits are NOT the problem.
I would be looking for a common wire for the B sides of the records
starting at the keyboard. Something that is different from the A side wiring. I don't recall this differentiation on the V200 keyboards though.
Are you SURE the machine is playing records on both sides when the
Battery Test is used? Have you tried writing to B side records that work with the Battery Test?
Just off the top of my head, haven't time to dig out a manual at the
moment as working on other machines...

I must correct this post. It will play A (left) sides but not B (sides). Not sure if that makes a difference but thought it might be important.

Hey All, A jukebox hobby friend asked for my help as he really
doesn’t have computer savvy.
He has a V200 with a TSR1 selection receiver. When he performs the
battery trick all selections are selected and played.
Making a selection from the keyboard works fine for all A (left
side) selections but the mech will scan twice and not pick up any B side (right side) selections?
He has tried swapping the 2D21 tubes and has traced out and verified
all the wiring is good with continuity.
To me it sounded like a readout problem at first but the fact that
it selects and plays all selections when charged by a battery kinda eliminates a readout or trip.problem and the fact that it selects and plays A sides, I think, rules out a write in problem?
I was hoping someone could offer some suggestions as I’m really not
good at remote troubleshooting and this seems like a very odd problem to me.
Much appreciated,
Mauro
