Thanks a heap. I will try these suggestions. P.S. yes there are credits. Someone in the past did the spring removal trick or whatever is done on these models to keep it from removing credits.

Hi Karl, The putting the record back on the carousel is because you are manually overriding the natural process by pressing the scan button down.. If I were you I would completely ignore that for the moment and concentrate on why the pulse converter isn't working.
Check the fuses firstly and also check the large buzz fuse on the 28v transformer on the inside front left of the jukebox.
On the inside at the back (remove back door) you will see the wallbox connectors. Get a piece of wire and hold it to the 25vac terminal and momentarily pulse the other end on the pulse terminal (not the ground one). That should tell you whether power is getting into the pulse converter or not, because if there is, you will start to hear the relays operating and various noises . You may also want to check the Jones plug connectors are seated at the rear of the pulse converter. Was this problem the reason you were given it to repair in the first place ? Ignore the turntable rejecting the record not for the moment as once you get selections being made, you may find that problem no longer exists. If you remove the grey pulse converter cover, if it is still there, you can poke the relays on the bottom shelf with a lollipop stick and you will see that they all have a purpose. Start off with the basics like this. If you get nowhere, you may want to remove the complete pulse converter and check it out. It's easy on the bench and there are a few caps you can change while you are at it. It may be the relay contacts are dirty, bent , burnt possibly.
You mention the pulse generator was working ok so I am assuming you have credit made on the jukebox.
If you have no joy and want to try the turntable part for a bit, with a wood stick, you will see 2 solenoids close to underneath the record now playing indicator. Push the top of the relay and it should put the jukebox into scan..if you push pit a pin with your finger it should select and play that record.

Hi all,
Once again out of my comfort zone. I'm supposed to be retired but every now and then I get talked into something. In this case it is an AMI model H 200 select. I solved a couple of simple issues that resulted from improper transportation. Tonearm had jumped out of place preventing gripper from completing its travel down to the turntable. Records out of place preventing carousel from rotating. After cleaning most of the switch contacts selection buttons latch, pulse generator rotates, buttons release but converter doesn't move, no pins are pushed and carousel does not move. Carousel will rotate using scan button. If I manually push a pin and activate scan button a few seconds carousel will turn to that pin, stop, lay record on turntable and put it right back.
Jukebox owner is 30 miles from me so I'd like to be armed with a few idea before going back. After leaving the other day it occurred to me that maybe when I reset the tonearm somehow I snagged the end of record switch into a constate of being closed.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Also I am a recent transplant to SW Florida, Fort Meyers area so all of the guys I used to refer these older electro-mechanical jukebox owners to back in Georgia aren't much help. If there is anyone in the area I'd be happy to pass along contact info.
