The dual band antenna on my truck, the whip snapped near the base. Second time it's happened with this brand (Tram), on two different vehicles, and both snapped at the same spot.
Since I'm only using 2M on the truck, I've stuck a welding rod in there and trimmed it for 2M for now, but I'd like to replace it with a stainless steel whip as the welding rod is going to rust away quickly. Replacement whips cost way too much to ship once they get over 36" long and I need around 38".
Does anyone have an old antenna laying around that still has a good stainless steel whip that is 2.5mm (0.098") in diameter and at least 38" in length? If so and you're willing to part with it, let me know.

I might have one Dave. I know I have a couple of old MFJ 2/6m whips around here somewhere.
