I just saw this posted on the BAOC (Bay Area Orienteering Club) listserver and thought people here might find it interesting. The abbreviations used are:

Clubnetters, FLO played a role in finding a lost jogger, stuck in a swamp not too far from a trail. There will be much more detail in ONA so stay tuned! If SAR sounds like where you'd like to make your map reading skills count, figure out whom to contact. I'll ask the USOF SAR director to help me find some of the contacts, such as the National Park Service, the Civil Air Patrol and your appropriate state or county agency. Want to get the word around so as to encourage all O'ers to step out in courage to assist local S&R efforts where possible. The benefits can be incalculable. I know others have done so and would have continued to do so, but publicity of this sort is rare.
