I just saw this posted on the BAOC (Bay Area Orienteering Club) listserver and thought people here might find it interesting. The abbreviations used are:
FLO - Florida Orienteering Club USOF - United States Orienteering Federation SAR - Search and Rescue ONA - Orienteering in North America (an Orienteering publication) O'ers - Orienteers
**************
Clubnetters, FLO played a role in finding a lost jogger, stuck in a swamp not too far from a trail. There will be much more detail in ONA so stay tuned! If SAR sounds like where you'd like to make your map reading skills count, figure out whom to contact. I'll ask the USOF SAR director to help me find some of the contacts, such as the National Park Service, the Civil Air Patrol and your appropriate state or county agency. If you already have made some contacts, please let me know. Chuck Ferguson, USOF President
