Lucky there wasn't ham radio, I bet those carbon arc lights were pretty noisy electrically, not to mention blinding bright.
Strange they claim it is coal fired when they show a drawing with an oil tank and pipeline, though they do show a small part of a building labeled coal. Perhaps it was a dual fuel system?

The North American SPRINT is today! It is only a four-hour contest so not a huge commitment. Even if you can't do all four hours, try it out.
The one interesting rule in this contest is that there is no "running"... everyone has to move frequencies after every pair of QSO's - makes it very interesting.
