Dated press release appears in the Santa Barbara News Press. The SBNP
got the Ventura call sign and club wrong. The call sign is N6R and
the sponsoring club is the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society (VCARS).
The SBARC Rover will operate from the helicopter pad on Monday 7
February from 0900-1600. We have a couple of openings for radio
operators on a first come first served basis. The operating area is
restricted so operators must be committed for the entire day. There
are no facilities on site.

Radio club to honor Reagan
February 2, 2011 12:00 AM
SANTA BARBARA The Santa Barbara Amateur Radio Club was given a
commemorative call sign, "W6R," to use Saturday through Monday in
honor of President Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday celebration, a club
press release said.
Over the course of the weekend, members of the club, which was
founded in 1920, will communicate with other amateur radio operators
around the world.
All stations that contact SBARC will be given a special commemorative
card indicating the time, date and frequency of their contact with
the radio club.
The Ventura Amateur Radio Club also will be active and remembering
the Gipper this weekend. Its call sign will be "K6R."
