Dear fellow amateurs,

I would like to purchase a Rohn R20 20' telescoping push up mast for a roof top Hex-beam installation, but I'm finding the cost of shipping the long mast to be prohibitive.

3 Star Incorporated, located in Ashland, VA, offers the mast at a reasonable price:

However the cost of shipment (including guy wire, thrust bearing, thimbles, cable clamps, etc.) is over $160.00 for shipment alone! The cost of shipping is in excess of the cost of the items purchased.

I am able to Will Call pickup the order in Orange, Los Angeles, or Ventura counties. So I attempted to find a local Rohn stocking distributor, and contacted Talley Inc., a national Rohn distributor headquartered in Los Angeles. Talley has the mast in stock:

However, the price is almost double that of 3 Star.

So, I'm wondering if any SBARC members may be able to refer me to a local Rohn dealer with better pricing, or have a suggestion on how to obtain a 20' push-up mast at reasonable cost.
